Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM.

I can understand your concerns for your father.

Sleep hygiene practices will help him to improve sleep. These are:

Avoiding napping during the daytime;
Avoiding stimulants such as caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol too close to bedtime;
Doing relaxing exercise, like deep breathing and meditation;
Staying away from large meals close to bedtime;
Ensuring adequate exposure to natural light to maintain a healthy sleep-wake cycle;
Establishing a regular relaxing bedtime routine;
Associate bed with sleep only.

Alongwith this sleep inducing drugs like zolpidem can help.
You can take him to a psychiatrist for further help.

Take care.
