What Causes Skipped Heart Beats?

To begin, I am 23-years-old and have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and iron deficient anemia. A couple of years ago I noticed that my heart occasionally skipped a few beats. At the hospital I was given a chest x-ray, EKG, and 24-hour holter monitor, all of which came back normal. The symptoms subsided, but I do occasionally notice a skipped-beat or two around the time of my menstrual cycle. Is there a connection?

Cardiologist 's  Response

Hi
anaemia is a very important cause of palpitations.
once your anaemia will be cured ,this feeling will go away
if holter is normal there is there is no need to worry
however if you feel that palpitations increases at time of mensus, ask you cardiologist to repeat a holter around the time of your next mensus
I find this answer helpful
