What Causes Skipped Heart Beat Feeling During Pregnancy?

I m 18 weeks pregnant and I keep feeling a skipped heartbeat or flutter feeling. I was just at the doctor this past week and they said my blood pressure was great. This has been going on for about three days now. It seems to start when I sit cross-legged on the floor, but when I move to the couch it doesn t calm down for a while. Should I call the doctor?

Hello,
Abnormal heart rhythm can be due to several causes like electrolyte imbalances, mineral deficiencies, changes in the blood pressure during the second trimester of pregnancy, a period with the greatest demand, and organic causes. Sometimes, early fetal movements also can be felt as a flutter, but you should be able to discriminate them from heart beat. Please report the matter to your consultant as nothing should be ignored during a pregnancy. Wish you good health.
