I went to the doctor to report coughing I had for a few months... They gave me azithromycin and prednisone ..before I had cough with phlegm but it was clear..now that I started meds I noticed with my my first few coughs it was dark green It scared me a little...this is my main question for tonight why is the color green now? And I also had been having wheezing This was all going on for a like a year 2013....coughing started slowly after I had surgery...had small area of some abnormal cell growth wasn't cancerous... Dr called it scwae -noma- I think.....anyway...Previous to seeing my pcp for this incident I went to a lung specialist in 2012... I went for a X-ray and a lung nodule was discovered....I was referred to a lung specialist...went right away. Did a exam and the breathing test thing they do everything was fine. From the initial X-ray the specialist saw she said it seemed fine...it was ruled out no acute process seen ....it was just) minimal amount of pleural thickening in the right lung apex. Cardiac silhouette normal limits no pneumoththorax....I was just never explained as a patient what the lung nodule part ment that was flagged down...back in 2012 late December I had no symptoms of coughing , that did not start to fall of 2013. To make a long story short....the lung dr did request to have a better X-ray review of the lung at the time specifically a / ct thorax chest without contrast sept 2012 but I never showed because I felt like she made everything sound fine....and all the test were fine....they charged a 125 no show fee which I was not aware was so expensive to so I plan pay in the next two weeks and reschedul with them and follow up ASAP...my questions this evening is what are the pros and cons of following up on this...I talk to my pcp...but he would not order the chest X-ray because it was not considered an emergency now... He explained my results were ok. I was recently in the er with a horrible migraine which I felt was sinus related...I brought my paper work with me to give dr my history but he pretty much wanted to treAt me for the headache and told me the coughing and lung issues were not emergency issues....which I understand...but I feel like they could be tied together. I'm really frustrated because I'm told one thing and feel like I'm feeling worse and getting lead in the wrong direction....I get really bad sinus headaches too
