What Causes Shoulder Pain And Numbness In The Fingers?

My name is Jeanine I;m a 38 yr old female. i m having shoulder pain (couple months now) Thought it was just a knot causing pain. Woke up the other morning and i couldn t lift my head because of pain in my neck. my fingers now go numb if i move too much. Can t sit and hold my head up without pain shooting down my arm and between shoulder blades. What could this possibly be? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your concern

With such a presentation in my clinic, I would first rule out [Ankylosing Spondylitis] and for it you need a clinical examination first by your family doctor and to confirm you need one MRI scan. Regarding treatment you can try [naproxen with pantaprazole] & a TNF drug like [Adalimumab]. You have to consult with a physio therapist in your area to guide you in exercise.

Hope that helps
