What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Pain Between Shoulder Blades?

My daughter is having shortness of breath, a pain between her shoulder blades and her glands are swollen. She coughs up phleum occassionally but it is not bloody or colored. She got her flu shot a week ago, but I'm not sure if that could be what it is from. She is 17 and has no health issues.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your daughter's situation and problem.
Flu vaccine can cause inflammatory reaction sometimes. By her history and description, possibility of bronchitis is more.
Breathlessness, cough, phlegm, chest pain, all are seen in bronchitis.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
PFT is needed for the diagnosis of bronchitis. It will also tell you about severity of the disease.
And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
She may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid.
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your daughter. Thanks.
