What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Fast Heart Beat?
Yes I was told that I had a heart murmur three years ago when i was pregnent. How do I know if I still have it? I was told that it should go away but I get shortness of breath and my heart beats so fast sometimes that I have to stop what Im doing to catch my breath. Is this a symtom? Do you think that a murmur could cause these things to happen?
Hi welcome to HCM In pregnancy, there occurs a maammary murmer due to increased blood flow in arteries and it disappears after delivery. But this is an innocent murmer and will not cause arrhythmias (palpitations). A murmur in the presence of symptoms Luke palpitations and breathlessness points towards a structural heart disease. It van be identified by an echocardiography. And also, the nature of palpitations can be identified by ECG or holter monitoring So consult a cardiologist for detailed evaluation
Thank you
