What Causes Sharp Stabbing Pain In The Eye?

I got a sharp pain in my right eye (on the side - right side of right eye) about 2 weeks ago. It lasted about 10 seconds but then felt uncomfortable for a couple hours after. In the last 2 weeks I ve had some lesser sharp pains lasting only seconds. I took my contacts out this weekend, kept them out and put dry eye drops in my eyes. This evening I got the sharp pain again for about 10 seconds and now I feel uncomfortableness in my eye for the past few hours. I am very responsible with my contacts. They are daily...I never wear them when I sleep. I take good care of my contacts and eyes. I am concerned about why I would get this random pain. what do you think?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, here the sinusitis need to be ruled out first I would suggest to try Tab Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen three times in day if the pain remains as it is then it is better to see the ophthalmologist hope this information helps.
