What Causes Sharp Pain Under The Right Side Of Rib Cage And Nausea?
I have sharp pain in my right side just under the rib cage. It doesn t hurt all the time and has been bothering me for months but just recently has began to get worse. It was just a mild yet noticeable pain. Now, it hurts much worse and has done so for two days now. For a week I have had chills and sweat profusely in bed..so much so that I have to change my clothes, but I still feel as if I m freezing. The pain comes and goes, but like I said, has progressively gotten worse. It even hurts to try to take a deep breath or cough. It is also accompanied with a little bit of nausea. It also hurts when I move or rather twist or turn that side of my body.

Pain over right side of rib cage or right hypochondriam with nausea could be due to spasm,acute choleycystitis or acute pleuiritis etc.
You should undergo routine blood investigations with x- ray abdomen and ultrasound abdomen first to make a diagnosis.
You need to consult gastro physician or surgeon who will know all the tests apart from doing clinical examination of abdomen and can order above tests.
Treatment will be based on underlying cause otherwise you can symptomatic treatment like antibiotics, anti-inflammatory or probiotics or prebiotics with antispasmodics till that
