What Causes Sharp Pain In The Right Lower Leg?

I was walking and made a sharp turn, and when I did, I felt a sharp pain in my right leg from my calf muscle down towards my heel. It hurts to bear weight on it, even when sitting down. It feels like my it s swelling, especially near my ankle/back of my foot. What could I have done to myself.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

While taking sharp turn you might have muscular strain in calf muscle leading pain and swelling in that area

For that first check fracture with x ray investigation

If no any fracture present then for strain take ibuprofen for 5 days...

Warm compress beneficial

Avoid strenous work activities

If needed elastic compression bandage can be applied

Take care

Hope your concern solved

Consult orthopedic surgeon for examination and further work up accordingly
