What Causes Sharp Pain In Ear While Blowing Nose?

I had strep throat a couple of days ago, I took antibiotics and the strep throat is gone, and now I have a stuffed nose that usually comes with strep throat. Today while I was blowing my nose I felt a sharp pain in my right ear and it sounded like a squeak. Now everytime I blow my nose it does this. Should I see a doctor? Or can I get rid of this by myself...

Hi

Welcome in HCM.

I understand your concern, your clinical history indicates that your throat infection had involved eustachian tube (tubular connection between ear and throat). The infection from your throat had now reach to involve your ear and now acute otitis media of right ear had developed.

You should now do-

1- Steam inhalation.

2- Nasal decongestant should be use.

3- Anti-histaminic.

4- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum).

5- Anti-inflammatory.
