I had a total hysterectomy 5 days ago. Today I started experiencing occasional, sharp burning pain in my left thigh. It is almost like someone is stabbing me or burning me. It comes and goes and I want to ensure not a blood clot. Do you think it is? I am 49, weigh 147 and am 5 7

Hi,
Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here

sharp burning pain in thigh just 5 days later a total hysterectomy must be alarming specially if you have swelling of the affected leg, if the leg feel warm and look redder than the other leg than it should be reported to the surgeon as soon as possible

there are possibilities of Blood clots which can form in superficial veins and in deep veins of thigh
Blood clots with inflammation in superficial veins rarely cause serious problems. But clots in deep veins (deep vein thrombosis) require immediate medical care.

If your doctor suspects that you have DVT, you probably will have an ultrasound test to measure the blood flow through your veins and help find any clots that might be blocking the flow.

Treatment for DVT usually involves taking blood thinners (anticoagulants) for at least 3 months to prevent existing clots from growing.
Your doctor also may recommend that you prop up or elevate your leg when possible, take walks, and wear compression stockings. These measures may help reduce the pain and swelling that can happen with DVT.

However if you do not have any symptoms other than thigh pain , it could be just due to muscle stiffness and will go away with OTC pain medications and mild exercise like walking

finally i would strongly suggest you to report it to your dr to get it further evaluated

I hope it help
