What Causes Sharp Abdominal Pain?

I am having really sharp pain in my lower abdomen on both side. I used to have ovarian cysts when I was younger but was put on birth control. I have been off of birth control for almost a year now? The pain is so sharp that it is even making me sweat. What could it be?

HI,thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the pain is related to the ovarian cysts. Ovarian cysts can cause pain as a result of different possible causes : (1)inflammation (2)infection of the cyst (3)bleeding

Since the pain is so severe, it would be best to see your doctor for an evaluation to determine the cause. This would involve physical examination and an ultrasound.

I hope this helps
