What Causes Sexual Side Effects Like Low Libido And ED?

Hi I am taking lexipro, wellbutrin, azor and hydralizine. I have for years, but recently in the last six months, I am having sexual side effects as to low libido, as well as ED. I am 57, and have been on these meds for years with no problems before...Can it be my meds? Or something else?

Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

Some of the medication that you have mentioned - can cause sexual side effects such as erectile dysfunction and low libido. Lexapro (Escitalopram), Azor (Amlodipine and Olmesartan Medoxomil) and Hydralazine can all have sexual side effects.

However, since you've been on these medication for years, but your sexual problems have started only recently, other causes need to be ruled out. There can be several other causes for erectile dysfunction also - both medical causes as well as psychological causes. Medical causes like diabetes, hormonal problems, blood flow problems, vitamin deficiencies cFor this, you may need an result in erectile dysfunction and decreased libido. Psychological factors also play a major role in causing or aggravating the problem. Stress, anxiety, fears and doubts regarding sexual performance, feelings of sexual inadequacy, self-doubts, guilt, past negative sexual experiences, etc. can all affect sexual functioning and performance.

So, I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist or a sexologist in person to have a detailed assessment and evaluation done. Further management of your problem will depend on the cause identified.

Wish you all the best.
