What Causes Severe Vaginal Itching?

I ve had itching in and around my vagina for a few weeks. No discharge or foul odor. I used Nair to remove pubic hair a few weeks ago also but can t remember having any burning at the time. I regularly use it though and know I ve had burning before and always rinsed it away thoroughly. Anyway, I saw my gyn and of course she said don t Nair down there anymore and she did some cultures and ruled out STD, yeast, and BV infection. Today I had a Brazilian wax for the first time and the aesthetician said I m irritate down there and when I looked at home I saw there were some open tears and they are itchy. Does all of this sound like contact dermatitis? When will it go away? I ve had itching off and on for about 3 weeks now.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Having itching after using hair removal cream is caused due to local reaction by the chemicals used in the cream leading to dermatitis.
Kindly wash the area with cool water and mild antiseptic like Savlon thrice daily.
Take tablet Ibuprofen orally after food to reduce inflammation. Also take tablet Levocetrizine once a day to reduce local irritation.
Apply Hydrocortisone cream twice daily. Wear loose fitting cotton undergarments till the symptoms subside.
Next time, take care while using such creams so that it will not come in contact with mucosa. You may have to change the cream based on its composition as you could be allergic to certain chemicals.
