What Causes Severe Vaginal Bleeding After Intercourse?
My girlfriend was a virgin before she met me. We have had sex 3 times in the past month or so. She is on the depo shot and we do use a condom each time. She bled a little bit the first time and I was really gentle with her because I am equipped and she is a small girl. She bled a lot the second time for about 4 or 5 days, which concerned her. It went away and about a week later we had sex again. And again she bled. Not as much as the second time, but a little bit. And its been a constant flow for about 8 days now. I'm just concerned that something is wrong. I need help.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. In the current scenario, I would recommend a proper clinical evaluation by a specialist. When consummation occurs, the hymen gets ruptured and this can cause spotting and sometimes bleeding resembling a natural period. Scarring occurs later as healing is done and further intercourse does not cause any bleeding or pain in the usual case. Repeated bleeding is a cause for concern and can happen with a traumatic intercourse when the vagina is small, with infection, polyps etc. Further management can be planned after evaluation. She needs styptics to control the bleeding. The impact of the hormone contraception also should be considered. Hope this helps.
