Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I injured my left elbow and arm on a fall on ice about 10 days ago. The elbow and arm swelled immediately and I used Ibuprofen daily and then Ibuprofen and Flexeril at bedtime for a few nights. What is concerning me is that for the last few days the swelling has gotten worse and is spreading to my forearm and top of my hand. While the pain hasn t increased too much my skin feels hot and tight, and looks red and swollen. The spreading of the swelling concerns me most. I m unable to seek medical attention for the next few days because my town is in the middle of a blizzard and travel is impossible. I m looking for advice on why this is happening and what I can do at home. Thanks in advance for your help and advice. Tony
