What Causes Severe Stomach Cramps Post Miscarriage?
Hello, I m miscarrying at naturally at home. Have been having so much cramps, I feel like both ovaries are swollen and it hurts when touching them or moving about. How long does it last the miscarriage and how far can the pain be normal and how long does it take to clear the uterus. PS: I was six when I was told I lost my baby

All these symptoms after miscarriage at home are suggestive of :
1. Incomplete abortion: Ultrasonography will confirm the completeness of abortion. If some products are still present in the abdomen, your uterus is trying to expel them out with forcible contraction; hence the pain. Incomplete abortion is associated with bleeding also. In such case, you will have to undergo surgical evacuation of the uterus. Incomplete abortion may have lead to infection too.
2. Post abortal infection: Since you have aborted at home, there is a possibility that proper hygiene might not have been observed and you could have contacted infection. Infections causes fever. Infection could be due to incomplete abortion also. Infection will have to be treated by antibiotics.
3. If you are in the process of abortion and not aborted as yet, Tab. Misoprostol will help you complete the abortion early; however, it will increase the pain in abdomen till you abort completely.
I feel you should not continue your management at home and report to a Gynaecologist and get admitted in the health facility if needed.
