What Causes Severe Stomach Cramps During Menstruation?

Hi,
So last Tuesday I has severe cramps due to my period that was supposed to be coming and when I got home I looked at my underwear and there was no blood. But when I wiped there were like one or two drops. This has never happened before and has happened for the past week. It doesn't happen everyday though. Can someone explain to me what's happening? I'm 16 btw and has had my period since I was 12

Hi,
If you are experiencing cramps for the first time during a period, the possibilities are that you may have started ovulating regularly as early cycles can often be anovulatory and there could be some infection. Stress also can cause such period pain or 'Dysmenorrhea'. Relief can usually be had with the help of anti-spasmodics. You may see your natural period in a day or two. If, you happen to be sexually active, possibility of pregnancy should always be kept in mind. Hope this helps.
