What Causes Severe Pain Under The Left Rib Cage?

Yes, I have had severe pain like muscle spasm under my left rib. I coul not sit up or walk for the last three days. All my blood tests are normal, CT scan and ultrasound did not reveal any reason for the excruciating pain. My dr refuses to authorize an MRI

Hi welcome to health care magic...

You have done USG and even CT scan like higher investigation for rule out any organic cause if present...

Both report normal so no specific organic cause present...

Your pain is mostly from muscle strain...
For that ibuprofen tablet can be taken for five days...
Avoid strenuous work.
Take proper sleep posture....
Avoid movement that cause pain.
Hot compress can be applied..

If needed physiotherapy help can be taken..

Take care

Advise : Physician consultation for examination...
