What Causes Severe Pain Under The Breast?

My nephew came home from the military today and gave me a big bear hug, lifting me up at the same time. I felt and we both heard a big pop from under and to the side of my left breast. The pain was so bad that I ranoff to rub my breast. Now it hurts to move certain ways, to lift and raise my left arm. A constant soreness on the side and under my breast. The soreness goes up my arm and to my neck. What happened?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that there was muscle injury that occurred.

This would cause the sound and persistent pain.

The use of warm compresses to the area, rest and anti inflammatory drugs would help.
Anti inflammatory drugs include naproxen, ibuprofen. cataflam.

If necessary, you may need to see your doctor for a muscle relaxant.

I hope this helps
