What Causes Severe Pain On The Right Side Of The Face?

ive been having moderate to severe pain on the right side of my face. the pain begins about in the middle of my ear and radiates through my jaw ,behind the ear my throat on that same side and down and i to my neck amd collabone and shoulder . i cant pin piont exactly what is causing the pain . i should note its been going on off and on for about 2 months , however in the last 2 weeks or so its been am everyday occurance. sometimes im experieancing no pain when i wake up in tje morning but by mid day the pain starts kicking in and by the time i go to bed at night the pain is so bad i cant get comfortable let alone sleep . oh i forgot to include that i noticed there is a lump behind fore mentioned ear approx. 1.5 or 2 inches behind ear .

Thanks for the query..

Your symptoms can be due to nerve induced pain that can be related to trigeminal nerve causing Trigeminal Neuralgia..

Other cause can be any pinched nerve or jaw joint related problems..

For narrowing down the exact cause a thorough clinical examination should be done followed by investigations like MRI Scan that will help in ruling out the exact cause ad then only appropriate treatment can be advised..

For now take a combination of painkillers and muscle relaxants and along with it do moderate physiotherapy..
Take sufficient sleep and avoid stress..
If it is nerve related pain then neurotic painkillers like Gabapantin, Carbamazipine can be advised..
