Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Three days ago my shoulders were achy. The next day at work, my ft shoulder got increasingly painful. By the end of the day any movement felt like stabbing pain. The pain lasted all night and was limited to right shoulder. I saw my doctor and she thought I must have injured it without realizing it she gave me a few pain pills and muscle relaxers. Friday night I took the medicine and went to bed. When I woke up the pain was in both shoulders and neck. And rat thumb. Now tonight it s spread to rot wrist. It hurts to move. So I m thinking systemic ?
If the symptoms are spread in joints arthritis is more likely to be the cause.
Anyway, I think you must see a rheumatologist if the symptoms do not settle within days because muscle damage needs some time to get healed.
If no improvement is seen in next couple of days see a doctor for further diagnosis.
Use warms baths and put warm clothes in the places where you feel muscle ache and use colds in the cases of joint swelling. Take painkillers and do soft movements. Physiotherapy can also help.
Hope this was helpful Dr.Albana
