Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Left knee area unable to move without pain. Keeps me up at night. I do have a ruptured Achilles ...a tennis injury 8 yrs ago and will be having surgery in a few weeks. However my left knee and hip has been taking the brunt. My left knee has become immovable and presenting serious pain up to my hip. More concentrated to the middle of the knee. The pain has become so severe I have taken action on fixing the less mobile Achilles issue. Should I be more concerned with the severe chronic pain in my left knee
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The pain you describe may be caused by hip and knee osteoarthritis. Given the severity of pain, I will suggest you see the doctor for examination. Many treatment options exist for such pains like different lines of pain drugs depending on pain intensity, myorelaxants, steroid shots occasionally, physiotherapy, and surgery in some cases.
I will suggest you see the doctor for examination and get hip and knee x-rays done. From the results, various treatment options may be tried.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
