What Causes Severe Pain In The Head And Tingling Around The Lips?
I ve had migraines for years but in March I experienced a severe headache in the top of my head ,tingling around my lips and weakness in my extremeties,it was accompanied with some nausea;since that event I have continued to have problems with memory and getting the word I m thinking to come out of my mouth.I also cont to have the same type HA several times week just much less severe ,have some mild weakness in my extermeties.I was DX in ER with migraine however this HA is unlike any migraine I have ever had {would have not went to ER if thought it a migraine ) I continue to have my familar migraines several times a month.I m concerned that this is possibly more vascular than neuro and am not sure which specialist I should see. I procrastinate about going to Dr and won t take narcotics so I want to pick the right specialist.
Hello! I read your question carefully and understand your concern. In my opinion the headache you have may be a primary stabbing headache. There is not a clear cause of this type of headache. Another cause I would like to mention would be a possible intracranial aneurysm with a sentinel headache. I would recommend you to consult a neurologist, have a careful neurological examination and a brain MRI scan to exclude a possible intracranial lesion like an aneurysm or a brain tumor. Hope to have been of help! Greetings! Dr. Aida
