What Causes Severe Pain In The Eyes After A Cataract Surgery?

My 66 yr. Old sister had cataract surgery on tues. She was in surgery for 1 hr and 35 min. She had unbearable pain to her eye and her head. Doctor said the cataract broke up and the slit tore. He saw her the next day and gave her drops. She was still in pain and now sees a big white glob in that eye. He saw her today and said the pressure had gone down in the eye. He wants her to go to a hospital on monday to see a another doctor! Does it sound like she should wait until then?
