I am 68 years old, non-smoker, slightly over-weight, and in moderately good condition. I have a particular but very annoying pain and irritating problem in my legs. When I try to sleep and my left leg is in a horizontal position with my head parallel to the ground, there develops a severe pain in my calf muscle on the left fleshy side. When I lift my leg toward the ceiling and kick my leg or get up and kick my leg I get momentary relief. Still, when I fall asleep again the pain returns. The pain has been particularly bad in the past two weeks even though I have had this pain over the past 1-2 months. In the morning, the pain tends to weaken after I shower with warm water or place a cold compress on it for 15 mins. Yet it can it times return. When I have the pain, it hurts when I walk or climb the stairs. Interesting the pain seems to subside when I sit or stand for a prolonged period. I am not on any medicine, but frequently have night sweats.
