What Causes Severe Pain In Leg At Night With Normal X-ray Post Injury?

I m a pitcher and was hit by a line drive. The ball hit the lateral aspect of my lower leg right above ankle. X-rays 5 days post injury were negative. I still have pain at the area, it even wakes me up at night. The NP I saw recommends ortho referral, I have a college scholarship for next year and am worried

I really appreciate your concern, if the is unremarkable then this is nothing to worry and such pain could be due to some soft tissue inflammation and this may take little more time to come around, no need to worry about this, hope this information helps, take care, have a nice day.
