What Causes Severe Pain From Back Of Head To Neck?

This morning I had a major headache with some neck pain. The area of head pain was at the back right side and into the neck. I was dealing with this ok and took 2 alleve. Went to work. A couple hrs later, the pain got worse. I left my office went outside into the sun and into another office where the pain got worse, felt like I had fever, had heavy shallow breathing, felt nauseous, started crying due to pain. Went back towards my office and collapsed into a chair, could barely lift mr head. Was driven home where I slept about 5 hrs. Feel better but not 100%. What happened?

I have studied your case.

First possibility as per presentation of your symptoms is migraine.
Migraine usually involves half part of your head and associated with nausea.
Check your blood pressure also.

Another possibility of complain related sinusitis.Inflammation of sinus leads to headache.
Routine blood investigation like complete blood count, ESR, CRP, MRI brain will be useful.

Blood investigations are useful tool for screening but there are nonspecific tools available.
Management will depend on clinical examination and investigation reports .Plan will go like this, if headache is of migraine variety
medications for migraine like sumatriptans can started consulting your doctor.

Some medication like analgesic [paracetemol] will reduce pain
