What Causes Severe Pain At The Back Of The Knees?

I have severe pain with my veins (or muscles) at the back of my knees. When I sit no pain . When I want to stand up then I have thia sharp pain at the back of the knees. I habe to use crutches to manage the pain to walk.What ias it and what do I need to do.

..thanks fr posting yr question on healthcare magic...was u have historyof trauma and smoking or its may be deep vein thrombosis and may be it.small artery disease..
