What Causes Severe Pain And Throbbing In Thigh Post Hysterectomy?

Hi, I had a hysterectomy on Dec 7 and I was having numbness in my left thigh kinda like it was asleep in asked my doctor and he said one of the nurses might have hit a nerve when they were giving me injections in that leg. Now I m having pain in my right thigh every time I put any kind of pressure on that thigh for example laying on it or my one year old grabbing my leg it feels as if a bee has stung me and just throbs. What could this be?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The symptoms are in keeping with neuropathy which refers to abnormal function of the nerves. Trauma is one possible cause.

It is possible that the numbness and pain may be due to the surgery itself or the injections used during your recovery period.

Surgery would require incision of different tissues and it is possible that a nerve may be injured during some part of the surgery. This may be temporary or permanent.
It can weeks to months for nerve injuries to heal, in some cases, complete healing is not possible.

I hope this helps
