General Surgeon 's  Response
The symptoms of burning pain, electric shock like discomfort, numbness, both lower limb muscle spasms are all due to Nuropathic damage. This Neuropathy can occur in T2 Diabetes, and also with nerve compression due to disc prolapse L 4/5 and sciatica. It would be good if you could undergo a 'Nerve Conduction Velocity' test to assess the degree of nuropathy. Medication like Pregabalin can be taken and would give relief of symptoms. However the dosages of the medication should be prescribed by an Endocrinologist, a Neurologist or a Podiatric surgeon. If an MRI shows sever nerve compression at L4/5 then a minimal access surgery to remove the prolapsed disc will be helpful in alleviating the discomfort you are having.
