What Causes Severe Pain And Cramps In Mouth And Tongue?
3 days ago I drank too much champagne on an empty stomach and spent the night vomiting/dry heaving. The next morning when I took a bite of food I imediatly experienced severe pain as if my mouth was cramping. I ate only liquids the rest of the day with extreme pain at the base of my toungue, soft palate and throat. The next morning my throat and tounge area felt much better but I noticed some swelling in my hard pallet above the teeth ridge line on the left side. Throughout the day the pain became more and more severe and the swelling also increased. It is now almost the end of day three with no relief. I m taking ibuprofen and Tylenol and it is not even touching the pain. It now hurts in my cheek, sinuses, and all the way into my eye and temple. Is this from the vomiting or something else?
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. The pain and swelling over the palate is because of the tooth infection secondary to decay which has lead to formation of pus. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like Amoxicillin and metronidazole(if you are not allergic). You need to take a radiograph to confirm the diagnosis. Later it can be treated accordingly. I hoe my answer will help you, take care.
