What Causes Severe Pain After Removal Of Tonsils And Adenoids?

Hi my grandson had his tonsils and adenoids removed 3 .5 weeks ago , he was given antibiotics 3 days into post operative care due to having a temp and extreme pain he stayed on the for over 10 days , his health improved but to date it has declined and now he has a temp and in a lot of pain , our Gp said he could not see any infection and diagnosed a virus , this was on Monday , now he is very hot and has a temp of 38 the gap asked him to return on Thursday if no better , his tonsils bed is still very white could you please advise

hi sir,after tonsillectomy,scab forms in that area which is white and it falls off by itself in 7 to 10 days.high fever certainly indicates some infection.please do consult a pediatrician and have his blood tests done to find out the focus of infection.take care.bye.
