What Causes Severe Leg Pain?

A friend has had severe leg pain...upper & lower leg since bing on amoxicillin for strep throat. Upon calling her doctor today was told that panic leg pain is a bad side affect & she should stop the amoxicillin immediately. Then because it was late in the day when his office called her back, they said she should go to the hospital ER or walk in clinic immediately because this is dangerous. Well she wasn t able to go to ER or clinic. What are the dangers? She stopped the antibiotic

There is nothing to worried now. Amoxicillin can cause allergic reaction in the body in some individual leading to sudden onset of breathlessness, bodyache, fever and even death. When you called your doctor, he thought you are having some type of allergic reaction in the body so he said that you should visit ER and get a steroid shot straight . As there is enough time has passed since you took this medicine and nothing untoward has happened,I would recommend you to have a watch on your friend, may be he can visit doctor right now if possible. Never take Amoxycillin in the near future and make sure that for next few days if any abnormal symptoms is noted .
