What Causes Severe Leg Pain Among Diabetic Patients?

My mom is a diabetic patient for last 6 years, but she use to get pain in the foot very much. Sometimes the pain is unbearable. i want to know what is the cause of the pain and what is the solution towards it? Advance thanks for answering my question.

Welcome to HCM
I understand your concern.Most probably your mother is suffering from peripheral neuropathy which is very common in diabetics.
This condition is due to diabetic microvascular injury involving small blood vessels that supply nerves (vasa nervorum).This causes damage to the peripheral nerves and results in severe burning sensation especially in the foot area.
Only way to decrease the pain is good control of sugar levels.Your mother can use footwears specially made for diabetes.
Avoid any trauma to the foot.Drugs like gabapentin are used for this.
