What Causes Severe Itching On The Hands, Forearms And Abdominal Area?

I just returned from a 2-mile jog and my hands, forearms and stomach area are itching like crazy. Earlier today I was working on my lawn pulling weeds, but nothing unusual, and there in no poison ivy or equivalent around here. This same sensation happend to me two weeks ago in another place where I went jogging and developed this itching, which lasted all night and then subsided the following day. I have no sensation other than the itching, which keeps me from sleeping.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM
The symptoms you describe are probably caused by allergy even though it may be difficult to identify the allergen. You may have gotten in contact with the allergen on your lawn or while jogging.Other causes of skin itches like skin infections are less likely.I will suggest you try the following:
-Take a fresh bath
-Take an anti-histamine like loratadine if itches persist
-Keep the dresses used far, clean them up and iron.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
