What Causes Severe Itching On Scalp On Applying Mintop Forte For Hair Fall?
Hi, I am 25 years old and suffering from severe hair fall. So, I started using Mintop 2% first results were good so I increased dose to 5%. I have seen mild reduce in hairfall for 15 days of use. Later my scalp starts itching a lot whenever i use Mintop Forte 5%. Please suggest what should I do now. There was no ithching when I used 2% mintop.
Hello. I am Dr. Praveen and I will be answering your question today.
Its likely the higher concenteration of the drug minoxidil is not agreeing with you. Please switch to the lower dose of 2%. Take an antihistamine like pheneramine maleate at night for 3 days. If the itching persisits then we need to think of the drug not agreeing with you at all. At that point please see your dermatologist.
Wishing you good health. Please feel free to drop in any more queries if need be. Take care. Warm regards, Dr Praveen Jeyapathy
