What Causes Severe Itching Along With Bruises On Legs?

Hi, I m 18 years old and for the past 3 weeks I ve notices my legs are very very itchy. They itch worse at night but they do still itch a little during the day and I ll scratch the thread off my jeans almost. A few nights ago I saw a few small tiny bruises on the inside of my thighs but they are very very small. Im not feeling sick or gross and I m pretty healthy. What is going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Persistent itching is most commonly due to allergies, infection eg scabies, irritation of the skin by insects eg bed bugs.
Other causes are thyroid disease, liver and kidney disease but these are not as common.

Scabies itching is normally worse at night.

It may be best to visit your doctor so that the cause can be determined and treatment initiated.

I hope this helps
