What Causes Severe Headaches And Tiredness While On Concerta?

My son is 16 and was recently put on 18mg Concerta for add after 2weeks the teacher s said there was a slight difference but not enough to make a difference in class work focussing. The doctor has upped his dosage to 27mg. now he is doing great in school but has no appetite and is very tired at the end of the day and has had bad headaches. He s only taken 3 days at the new dosage. Is there anything else he could take with less side effects..or something natural

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe headaches and tiredness while on Concerta . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like migraine , dehydration or sinusitis . Sometimes there is also reasons like sleep apnea or side effects of certain medicine which can cause such symptoms . Consult doctor who prescribe concerta to rule side effects . Also go for sleep study. I would suggest you to consult neurologist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI along with taking history . Doctor may prescribe medicine like vasograine along with anti inflammatory and betblockers . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for sinusitis . For now take proper rest , drink plenty of water and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
