Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was taking minocycline 100mg once a day. I took it for 15 days and about day 9 I noticed a headache by day 10 it was getting worse. I took it from 2-15 thru 3-1 and stopped as headache was getting worse. Went to dermatologist on 3-13 and she gave me doxycycline 50mg twice a day. I have not started it yet. A little afraid to start after reading the listed side affects for this medicine too. Am taking it for a flairup of rosaca. Email is YYYY@YYYY
Hello I just read your query and from what you mentioned i feel that you have a side effect of minocycline which is headache however it is a very rare occur for minocycline however Doxycyline will definitely caue more Headache as it is inferior to minocycline in terms of side effects
I suggest you try alternative topical application for your rosacea such as metronidazole ointment or topical azelaic acid whic are also very effective first line treatement for management of Rosacea unless you have already tried them and had no benefit.
Hope my advice is of some help to you.Goodluck.
