What Causes Severe Headache, Neck Pain, Sore Throat And Fever?
My daughter goes to school 3 hours away in Orlando and she just called me crying of a severe headache, neck pain, sore throat and fever. She said she has been in bed all day and took tylenol for her headache but it didn't do anything. I told her to go to a medicare center right away. Should I be concerned or could it just be a flu?

Hello there,
Don't be concerned. What your daughter having is a systemic viral illness. Usually the viral fever is very nonspecific and will be associated with generalized body pain and fever with irritability. It usually takes about a week to settle completely. For fever you can take Acetaminophen which is much safer anti pyretic and analgesic too. Dosage is 10 to 15mg / kg every 6 hourly.
Drinking lots of fluids will help you feel less fatigued.
If fever persists for more than a week,then it is something to be concerned about.
