What Causes Severe Headache, Chest Tightness And Lack Of Energy While On Fluvoxamine?

Hello. I am 48 yr old white female. I was taking fluvoxamine for ocd tendencies ( 2 50 mg tablets daily). I felt like they weren t helping any longer so I stopped. My depression was not getting any better so I went to doctor last week and he wanted me to go back on fluvoxamine and double dosage. I did that for 4 days and started feeling awful and am wondering if it is the medicine making me feel bad. I have bad headaches, tightness in chest, and have absolutely no energy.

Fluvoxamine can cause headache, chest pain and weakness. As all the above symptoms have come after fluvoxamine was introduced on double dose, I would have suggested a dose reduction or switching to other drugs like fluoxetine if dose reduction does not offer relief.
You can discuss the above points with your consultant and take the decision.
