What Causes Severe Headache And Runny Nose While Suffering From Deviated Septum?

I ve had the symptoms of severe allergies for 10 weeks now. Recently, I ve had a CT scan because of severe deviation in my sinus region. Today, I ve had a very bad headache and constant dripping from my nose of a watery type liquid and neck discomfort. In my past, I ve had a history of viral meningitis x three. Once in 2000, then again in 2003 and the last time was in 2006. Is there a correlation between my history and the chance of this being CSF? Thank you for your time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The problem what you are encountering with severe headache and runny nose is as a result of allergic hypersensitivity and deviated nasal septum.
Since allergy and deviated nasal septum aggravate the symptoms by causing mucosal hypertrophy and blocking of sinuses, you are bound to experience such type of severe headache.
Kindly consult ENT specialist in this regard at the earliest so that allergic symptoms can be managed with conservative treatment and deviated nasal septum by surgical correction.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
