What Causes Severe Fatigue Along With Rapid Gain In Weight And Muscle Cramps?
Hi there I recently got full blood works done and my TSH came out as 4.42, slightly over the top end of the range. We did a T3 and T4 and antibodies test, but they came back normal (have not seen the numbers yet) and the doctor said my thyroid was fine. To be honest, I wanted to cry. I have been struggling for months with the worst fatigue I have had ever. Let me list my symptoms: I m always tired (the worst in the mornings) Everything is an effort I lost heaps of my hair about 20 years ago (I m 39 now) and what I have left is thin and brittle I have a sore throat most days Get frequent sinusitis (although the latest head CT shown that I have no problems!) Muscles cramps - even though I m taking stuff for it Bad balance Have gained so much weight since my 20s it s not funny Anything I try to do to lose weight ends in disaster I struggle to remember things and sometimes my memory is terrible I am at the end of my wits! Why am I always tired! I have even gone to see a nutritionist who gave me an eating plan which is supposed to help. I follow it to the T, but no extra energy and no weight loss in the past week. Would appreciated your feedback Thanks
At least Thyroid function does not seem to be the cause of your problems; namely fatigue, low immunity Weight gain, hair fallmuscle pain etc. First try to rule out any muscle disorder like myalgia /myashenia .Neurologist can help. Second try to recollect.. with over-zealous dieting to reduce weight you have not landed in nutritional deficiencies. For time being do some light exercise and try to control weight but no yo yo diet.. try to take healthy food. Pl. get your Vit D3 and Vit B12 levels done ;if found low take replacements for 3 months. I believe Good Vit.A and Vit. E replacements will help you for hair and muscle problem. Wish you great health...
