Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Muscle cramps can arise due to many reason. Most common cause of muscle cramps is over exertion and
dehydration. Other causes like
electrolyte imbalance and
poor blood circulation can also cause this condition.
I suggest you to consult a physiatrist(A doctor specialized in physical medicine) or a general practitioner and get the following things done:-
1.Do routine blood investigations and electrolyte assay. Because electrolyte disturbance like low blood levels of calcium or potassium can cause cramps.
2.A TFT(thyroid function test) also needed to rule out thyroid disorders.
3.Most cases can be managed by self care measures as stretching exercises and massaging. maneuvers like putting your weight on the affected leg and slightly bending your knee can help to reduce pain.
You can try the following to prevent muscle cramps:-
1.Keep yourself hydrated, drink plenty of water.
2.Stretch properly before exercise.
3.Have healthy diet rich in
vitamins and minerals.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
