What Causes Severe Cramps In Back With Pain In Legs?

Hi Doc , have been on Rosuvas for few years now, am 55 now, mostly was on Rosuvas 5 , sometimes dosage was increased to 10 mg for few months due to high ldl , but I have severe side effects with 10 mg , like cramps in back ,awfully painful, ache in legs with no injury , it s now affecting my life style l can we change the statin ....or maintain 5 mg....i am other wise active and even during acute muscle pain in kegs I go for walk in the morning...please advise thanks

5mg to 10 mg of statins may not have such adverse effects, although higher doses are sometimes related to muscular weakness in body skeletal muscles. Get in touch with your physician who may change to other statins if required. Serum and muscle lactic acid levels after exercise are raised and may be measured if necessary to account for statins.
it is possible you have back prob due to bone reasons , so Get xray of spine and consult orthopedic doc. to find out if it is back prolem primarily
