What Causes Severe Burning Sensation In The Penis?

My son, 14n is having a burning sensation at the tip of the penis during urination and after. He saw the doctor yesterday, the urine sample in clinic did not show signs of infection and the culture results are due tomorrow. Is there any topical remedy to relieve the burning

Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
* If urine culture show growth of bacreria , your son would need specific antibiotic course suggeated in the test.. thea treating doctor ahpuld be consulted for the prescribtion.
Such compaint can be due to insufficient water intake/ local irritation caused by tight or unfitting-undergarments,trousers.,/itching,unhygiene & local infection /improper cleaning / small opening of foreskin fold.
*Self care-
-antibiotic skin ointment can be applied lightly
to the lesion seen at urethra.
-proper cleaning/ use of cotton (hogiary) undergarment should be taught .
-Drinking sufficient ( 8-10 glasses in 24 hours ... not after 7 pm to avoid sleep disturbance)of water would helo.
-In case no relief.. local examination woulld help in deciding other treatment. Please consult a surgeon ..
So if there is no relief /recurrance
after antibiotic course (as per doctor's advise ) and personal care pl. take him to a surgen need of circumcission.
