What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea?

Hi my 12 yo has severe abdominal pain. Thought he was constipated. Did myrlax 1 cupful on Friday. 2 on Sat., 1 Sun as well as a suppository. Mon diarrhea at 7 am. By noon discharged 3 small round balls. Thought maybe a blockage. Did another cupful of myrlax. Tues went to PCP & he wanted to do a myrlax flush. Did this a total of 4 times, 1 cupful every 2 hrs. Still nothing. Went to ER Tues night because pain in stomach was VERY bad & they did xray. No stool at all, unless in small intestine. Sent home. Wed he had VERY bad diarrhea. Thurs pain increased to 8/9. Saw PCP who sent us to GI dr who sent us to ER for CT & bloodwork. All ok. Pain is a 9/10

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe abdominal pain and diarrhea. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like food poisoning , food allergy , infection of digestive system , gas , acid reflux , stomach flu or colic . Need not to worry. I would suggest you to sips of water or other clear fluids on a very frequent basis. You should take oral rehydration solution as well. You should avoid solid foods for a few hours try small amounts of mild foods such as rice, applesauce and do not take foods or drinks caffeine, carbonated beverages, citrus and dairy products. If condition doesn't get better then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination and get complete examination done. Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug , antibiotics, analgesic and antacid .
