What Causes Severe Abdominal Cramps After Intercourse?

My husband and I had sex last night, and tonight I m have cramps. They feel like menstrual cramps, but I m not on my period. I take birth control but got a shot at the doc office the other day and she said I would throw off my pill. What could cause these cramps?

Hello
I share your concern
Abdominal cramps after sexual intercourse and shot for birth control might be related to infection or inflammation of the urogenital tract or adverse effects of injection you have taken.

I would advise you for a battry of investigation like blood for hemoglobin, CBC,ESR, urine culture and an ultrasound abdomen with pelvis.

Meanwhile you can take antiacidity medicines like pantoprazole or ranitidine group of drugs which will eliminate the possibility of acidity related cramps.
you should drink plenty of fluids 3 to 4 liters a day
Maintain good hygiene
Hot water bath will definitely help you

Hope this answers your question, please do let me know if you have any more queries, I will gladly answer you.
Best wishes
